VAT, stamp duty and FODEC on your invoices in Tunisia

A Tunisian invoice combines several tax lines. Contabli calculates them to the millime and prints them in the right order, so the amount due is correct from the first issue.

How it works

  1. 1Choose the VAT rate on each line
  2. 2Enable FODEC for the products concerned
  3. 3Check the stamp duty and the total with VAT
  4. 4Issue: the PDF carries the breakdown, in French or Arabic
VAT, stamp duty and FODEC on your invoices in Tunisia

VAT per rate

Each line carries its own rate: 19 %, 13 %, 7 %, exempt, suspended or export. The invoice summary adds up the bases and the VAT amounts per rate, as the tax administration expects.

Stamp duty

Contabli adds the 1-dinar stamp duty by default, included in the total with VAT, and lets you turn it off for an exempt company or document.

FODEC

For the products concerned, the 1 % FODEC is a separate tax line included in the VAT base. You enable it on the relevant line; Contabli does the rest.

Common questions

Which VAT rates does Contabli handle?

19 %, 13 % and 7 %, plus exempt, suspended and export. Confirm the rate that applies to your transaction with your accountant.

Is stamp duty required on every invoice?

It applies to invoices in principle, but some cases are exempt. Contabli proposes it by default and lets you remove it; check your situation with your accountant.

Does it apply to foreign-currency amounts?

Every currency is accepted. Invoices carry no exchange rate; purchases in a foreign currency keep one, because VAT on them is calculated in dinars.
